Magazine Advert Template

We had a pretty clear discussion about what we wanted the magazine advertisement to look like, and from our research, it was clear what information needed to be placed on the advert such as release date and quotations etc. So creating the template was not too hard. Also because we were so certain of the layout, we only needed to draw one template.

Magazine Advert Example

These are two very similar magazine adverts, which I like. Both adverts have black backgrounds, and I like the way the images used merge/fade with the background, but at the same time the image colours contrast with the black background. This is the sort of effect we wish to aim for, when creating our magazine advert.
The images used for both adverts, are the images used on the actual album covers of their digipacks, which identifies the use of house style.

The first magazine advert only uses white and red text. The information is very simple and consists of; the album name, release date, one critic view and the band website.

The second magazine advert only uses white text. The information is far more in this advert. The magazine advert includes; the album name, several critic reports, the singles on the album and the band website.

Of the two adverts, I prefer the structure of the first one because it is simple and still portrays the same message as the 'temper trap' advert. Also I think the 'temper trap' advert is too crowded, and no longer appealing. I do not think it is necessary to include every single on the album in a magazine advert.
