Editing

To create our final product, we relied heavily on Final cut to professionalise the editing of the video, and adapt to it to make it seem real. This involved quite a bit of manipulation. Here are a few of the effects we used in final cut;

Although the majority of our music video consists of jump cut, there are parts of the song which are slower than others. This means the editing has to be slower. To do this we used transitions, such as cross dissolves and fades.

Above, shows usage of the time-lapse. We used this to effectively portray Harry's isolation and also the sense of being trapped in his own mind as the whole world moves around him. It was used during the lyrics "In the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you" the busy movement gave a good impression of a city and yet Harry is still, waiting.Above, is usage of the overlay. We used the overlay to portray the idea that Harry was in the middle of a nightmare. We overlaid the puppet over Harry sleeping with difficulty.
