Finding The Puppet

Finding the puppet was a real struggle. Hulya was in charge of putting together the images for the animatic, so instead of simply watching her, Megan and I thought it would be useful to start researching for the puppet.

We first just started searching for puppets on Google shopping, but they all seemed to be very expensive; above £100. So we decided to visit eBay and Amazon scouring the net for a puppet to use in our video. This was very hard as the puppet is central to the plot and it had to look right or the whole video just would not work. We searched for ages searching puppets, ventriloquists, string puppets, scary dolls etc. After days of looking we still could not find a puppet that looked the part.

Eventually we found the puppet which looked appropriate; however it was a 'bid only' sale. During lessons we rung the owner to find out if there was any way he could make it buy only, however this was not an option, because eBay would not physically allow him to. When the day of the bid arrived, we were all at the ready with our credit cards, and in the last two minutes we went bid crazy! Luckily we managed to win the item and received the puppet just a few short days later and we were finally able to film our video.
